Bored in RI

So chillin in Rhode Island by myself is definately as boring as expected. I have made the best of my time alone. I've gone for a few motorcycle rides and sat around in my underwear watching movies like Rambo. Luckily for me tomorrow night I'll be heading to Annapolis to meet up with Jen and the rest of the McKennas (but not my girls). Thursday night though I think I'll get to see them. Having these girls has definatley turned me into a chick. I use to be an Island....now I get sad when I don't see my girls everyday, odd for a guy in the Navy. Luckily deployments are easier cause I have constant work to keep me busy (at least that's the way it was last deployment). Anyway, here are some pictures of the girls (otherwise known as the reason people look at this blog).

Sorry

Well I am very sorry for promising pictures from our last week. We are over in NY as I have written before and my parent's computer does not have a card reader and I forgot our camera wire. So the pictures will have to wait. We have had a wonderful week in NY though. The girls and I went to the local zoo on Tuesday and we went to Mema's class on Wednesday to enjoy the annual kindergarten sing concert. Alex, my wonderful brother-in-law graduated from Bellport High School on Thursday night and I was proud to attend especially since the very intelligent young man graduated 4th in his class! This weekend we ventured over to NJ for a Reynolds family reunion at my great aunt's house. Kaleigh was in love with her beautiful in-ground pool! We all had quite a fun day being together and sharing stories! This week brings us alot of fun as mommy and daddy will have sometime to themselves in beautiful Annapolis so we can join Alex for his USNA Induction Day! We will keep you updated and I promise pictures as soon as possible!

Busy Weekend

Sorry we have not written! All last week was prep time for this upcoming weekend and then once we were in New York we were crazy busy so here is a very quick recap and I'll post pics at a later time when I'm not totally drained. We arrived in NY on Thursday night to prepare for the rehearsal and last minute details on Friday. Matthew's sister, Katie and Dave were feeling pretty good but due to work schedules and it being the day before their wedding there was still work to be done so we helped as much as we could. I did get some fun girl time when we all went for pedicures and then at the rehearsal dinner. The Provenchers did such a nice dinner with iced coffeees and everything. Saturday began at 4 AM for me, hair and makeup and then off to some pics before the ceremony. The wedding was beautiful and the bride was gorgeous! Kaleigh was so cute and did a wonderful job! We all had so much fun at the reception and then Matthew and I were off to my 10 yr reunion. SO FUN! Today we had to say goodbye to daddy so he could get back to work but the girls and I are hanging out for awhile. So in the next few days I'll be sure to post pics from this very busy and wonderful weekend!

Happy Father's Day

Hope all the loved fathers are having a wonderful day. Our daddy opted for a low-key day at home with his girls and his grill. Kaleigh made him a crown for today because "He is my prince and the best king" to quote her. We also made him a very special medal. After a blessed time at church we are now home to enjoy each other. Have a very blessed father's day!

Our Walking Outing

We are keeping it low key this Father's day weekend because we have very busy weeks ahead of us. So for our activity today we walked around beautiful Newport, ate at the wonderful Red Parrot and then got some Ben and Jerry's ice cream. The girls did really well and are now passed out sleeping. You gotta love fresh air! We also were able to switch our awesome phil&ted stroller around and Loganne was quite content in her new position.

First Trip to the Beach this Year!

Well we went to the beach today after I got home from work. It was Kaleigh's first beach trip in RI and Loganne's first beach trip ever. Kaleigh is absolutely fearless in the ocean. I had to stay next to her otherwise who knows how far out she would have gone. Loganne didn't really do much, then again she's only 4 months...she pretty much hung out in the shade of the umbrella with her mommy. Here's a few pictures from our adventure.

Routine Doctors Visit and Strawberries

Well Loganne had her 4 month doctors visit today. Unfortunately it meant a couple of shots, fortunatley I wasn't there for them; I don't do well when the girls are hurt or sick. Her Tazmanian Devil bandage on her thigh was kinda cute though. On a positive note from the visit Loganne is 14lbs and is 24.75 inches long. That puts her in the 50th percentile in weight and the 75th percentile in length. She weighs significantly less than Kaleigh did at her age...hence the nickname Little Bit. Kaleigh had a pretty good day, ice cream after the doctor because she was so good, then her Music Together Class, and strawberries after dinner to top of her night.

My Dram

So I was talking to my grandmother on the phone today to wish her a very happy birthday and I thought that on this very special day I would tell you all how wonderful she has been through the years. She is truly the best grandmother and has been such a shining example for all those in her family. She loves, cares and gives so selflessly and is a blessing to all those who know her. She tells wonderful stories (even if they do include what she ate lol) and it is now such a joy to watch her pass that on to my children as great grandma aka GGma. So on this day may I say thank you dram and that I love you so much!

Happy Birthday!

Kids

Just thought some of you would like some random pics from the last few months. Nothing in particular but the 3rd photo is Loganne at birth. Enjoy and I'll be sure to post more as we take them.

Sweating!

So I was sitting here sweating and my husband just walked in for lunch with an air conditioner in his hands. Today he really is my knight in shining armor. We are so not use to this northeast thing (it gets super hot but no one has ac)! Not cool (literally)! Well now it is installed and although our house is not quite freezing I am mentally feeling better already! Hope all of you in the heat are surviving. In other news Kaleigh had her last gymnastics class today and she was basically delirious from the heat. Funny for me to watch from the stands and so frustrating for her teachers. We have one more music class left this week and then we will be getting ready for our trip to NY. We will be staying there with family for 3 weeks so we can enjoy a wedding, a graduation and a very exciting Induction day! Not too mention that the 2 grandmas are taking Kaleigh to see Beauty and the Beast at the wonderful local playhouse.

Love,

Jen

Finally some pictures

So we finally got a new camera battery and some updated pictures as a result. Here are the girls....Little Bit (Loganne) and Boom (Kaleigh) plus the one and only Guappo Grande (Magnus). Bit is naked because it was WAY too hot here in Newport for clothing on a baby. I have a feeling we're in for a long night if it doesn't cool down.

Ok let's try this...

So The McKennas are blogging! I have been inspired by many friends that make this look pretty easy. We figured this is the easiest way for people to know what our adorable children look like and how everyone is doing. For those of you who don't know our current status we are in Rhode Island while Matthew attends Department Head School, and then we are off to Texas. Life is very busy but very good. It's been nice being on the east coast near family. As soon as we take some current pictures we will be sure to put them up! Looking forward to keeping everyone updated!

Love,
Jen
